We celebrate nine nights straight, from Friday the 11th to Saturday the 19th of September — not just the weekend. Each night has its own theme and DJ line-up, all built around Nicaragua’s two big national dates: the Battle of San Jacinto on the 14th and Central American Independence on the 15th.
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are the biggest nights. On Sunday the 13th we start early, at 4:00 PM, with the sunset day party and keep going all night until 4:00 AM; Monday the 14th celebrates San Jacinto and Tuesday the 15th is Independence Day, in blue and white. If you only come for one night, make it one of these three.

September isn't one date, it's two. One is the battle that gave the pride; the other, the signature that gave the freedom. Both land right in the middle of the run.
A handful of poorly armed Nicaraguans beat back William Walker's filibusters at the San Jacinto hacienda. Few, badly equipped, and they won anyway. This is the date of pride.

The Act is signed in Guatemala and five countries stop being a colony on the same day. That's why every September the torch of freedom crosses the region hand to hand until it reaches the border.

The flag colors take over everything: facades, plazas, jerseys, even the cocktails. Dress in white and join in.
Drums, lyres and sticks. Schools rehearse for months for the parade: it's the official sound of September.
The flame of freedom travels from Guatemala to Costa Rica passing hand to hand. It crosses all of Nicaragua every September.
Nacatamal, indio viejo, vigorón and chicha. The patriotic table matters as much as the party. Kitchen open from 8:00 AM.
Nine nights to celebrate it.
